I haven’t been posting here much lately, I have been feeling like there is not much to say. I have also been trying to stay in the present and be there for my kids, not the one behind the lens. Work has picked up and life has picked up and I am in it. We are busy, but enjoying so much of it. These days, hanging with the boys and my niece is more fun than work and I love it. Recently we took a quick trip to the beach, I just wanted to dip my toes in the sand and see some excited smiles. I’ll share those with you…
I won’t make any empty promises about being here more. But I do hope this isn’t the end of lsnjd. I’ll keep trying to update more, if you’ll keep reading.
You turned 7 a few weeks ago. I can’t yet wrap my head around how I have a seven year old child. Not only that, you are this amazing boy, with this smile that lights up a room.
You care for your brother and friends and want to be included in all things. You excel at school and are so smart, that is shocks me how soon you will be able to out-smart me.
Who still at times has eyes for only his Momma, and my heart bursts and I am proud. Proud of who you are becoming and so glad I get to be on this journey.
I love it when I show something to the kids and it gets their imaginations running. C can be so creative. This morning I was telling him about this website called The Daily Monster. It’s a pretty neat website with the author drawing a monster a day. I thought C would think that it was pretty cool to see all these monsters this guy has created. No seriously, click through, these guys are amazing. C loved them. He scrolled around looking at them all and when he was done, he asked if he could draw a daily monster with me this morning. So we did.
I thought this was so fun. I hope we can draw some more this weekend!
So I have been following and loving the blog, Bakerella for a long time. I have loved her Cake-Balls recipe for so long and have been meaning to try to make some for a while now – but I just never had the time or the excuse. I decided with all of the holiday dinners we were barging in on, that my niece and I would make some cake balls for people as a thank you.
It was pretty easy and fun. Here I am demonstrating the Bakerella way to knock off the extra topping:
C had fun helping me dress them up –

They were pretty tasty too and both kids and adults alike, enjoyed them!

Turned out to be a fun project. I suggest/ recommend keeping the balls as cold as possible until you dip them. So glad people enjoyed them!
