C finished up soccer a few weeks ago. He really enjoyed it and has already asked to play again in the fall. I love that he has found a sport he is into. Here are some pics of him getting a little participation trophy (don’t get me started) and of the last “game”! C played tough and hard and really improved over the season.
I put some more up over here. Enjoy!
No, I did not finally give up on red and go pink! My sister-in-law just had her first baby – a girl – and I made her a baby album for the new little one. I tried to make it easy – so she could just print 4×6 pictures and stick them on to the pages and added a few journaling places where she can write a few thoughts or many. I added pages that became very important memories to me after I had my first baby. I loved the book, it was a lot of pink! So that was fun for me. Here are some of my most favorite pages from the book:
You can see all the pages right over here. Enjoy!
OK, so we are still trying to figure out reds for the wall (again). My first reds were a bit too dark. After looking at them for a few days, I started to agree. I decided to try the actual UGA red, that you can buy at Home Depot. So we went and got a tester of that red. Here is how it looks:
And I picked up this red as well. It’s called Cherries Jubilee. It seemed a bit brighter to me, so I thought we’d try it as well.
I like both. I think brighter is the way to go for this room – it’s a basement with no windows. J has thrown up his hands and wants me to pick a red already. I really am starting to see red!
Every year Columbia puts on a Columbia Festival of the Arts, which starts with a Lakefront festival and other activities with shows, art displays, comedians, movies, etc. Lots of it is free and so we join in on the things that look interesting for us. This year we decided to check out the Kinetic Art Parade. I had heard about it online and thought it might be fun for the boys.
It was pretty small and not really what we were expecting at all.
Some of the Star Wars characters were a part of it, so this made the boys day!
Some of it was confusing and was met with these looks:
But the people in the parade were enjoying themselves and that made it worthwhile for us.
You can find the entire set of pics over here. Enjoy!
Help a girl out, would you? I have promised J a UGA room for as long as I can remember. We’ve always associated finishing the basement with a little tribute to J’s school, UGA. The way I want to do this, without going over the top, is to paint one wall red and the rest a tan. And hang a bunch of UGA related pics on that wall (black frames, white mats) Who knew red was SO freaking hard to pick out??
Here are my 4 choices:
I love love love the tan color we found, so that is a definite. Now the search is on for the right red. Which one do you like?
My favorites are:
But what say you? Which one do you like? Pick one, or I might be driven to this:

But you know, less milk. Red is driving me crazy! Want to see close ups of each one of the reds? Click here to see them. Vote here or there!
