Over the Memorial Day weekend, we got the chance to go up to J’s cousin’s house to hang with them and their kids and J’s Aunt, and other cousin and girlfriend. It was such a great day for it – weather-wise and friend-wise. The kids are all relatively close in age, so I love seeing them all play together.
Because we were seeing the aunt that is also a Maker’s Mark Ambassador, so I wanted to bring a fun summer drink, that also included Maker’s Mark. Well, in my extensive internet search (I read a few blogs), I found this drink, that fit the bill.
(Not drinking the Special Drink)
We subbed in Maker’s as the bourbon and forgot to add the fresh lemon and sugar. Well, we forgot = we were too lazy. But the point is, the drink was DELICIOUS. Perfect for that summertime cookout. Everyone enjoyed it immensely, except for the name. By the end of the night we were calling it Laurie’s Lemonade, or Fun in a Cup. (This depended on how many you had).
It was such a great day – filled with those classic summertime activities like laughter, drinking, hanging out with nowhere to go or be. S’mores, catching fireflies…
A day that I absolutely loved. A day I hope the kids remember.

Fun in a Cup! We are overdue for some of that. Photos look great, glad you had a nice Memorial Day!
