J and I just said good-bye to our 13 year old beagle, Alex Cross today. He has been fighting many battles with different illnesses, and another issue flared up over the weekend. He was the best dog a girl could have ever asked for. He was sweet natured, tolerated the addition of new kids, and dogs easily. He was loyal and protective. He missed his best friend, the Moo, but stayed with me because he knew I needed him. I loved every minute that I was lucky enough to have with him. And even though, J and I have known for the last year that this day was coming, I am so sad to say good-bye to him. He is already missed.
Normally, I would turn comments off for a post like this. My heart is sad and bruised, so please play nice and if you want, let me know a fun moment with Allie or that you are thinking of me. All rude and mean comments will not be tolerated on this post (J will get you!).
Thinking of you and the family – I’ll miss hearing him “snoring” under the table while we’re scrapping at your place.
Thinking of you, J and the boys. Smiling every time I can visualize R carrying around his very own Allie. He’ll be with you forever sweet friend! Lots of love being sent your way.
Oh we are thinking of you- I am so sorry, Allie will be missed. All of our love is being sent your way– love MOm
Aww honey! I am sorry you had to say goodbye to your sweet Allie … I am thinking of you. Hugs, J
My favorite moment is when we got together for the 1st time after we hadn’t hung out for a while…Lil met Alex and the Moo and her fear of dogs melted away. So, thank you to Allie!
