For the party, my niece offered to make a rocket cake for C. It cam out fantastic, and we’ve gotten a lot of compliments on it. She did it entirely by herself. Came up with the design and color plans after asking C what he might like to see.

At the party, we had to fake the blowing out of candles — it was just too windy, but C was a good sport about it.

I also made rocket and alien cupcakes.

And offered up fruit rockets to the kids to munch on. Everyone loved these:

For the activity part of the party, we shot off rockets. The kids loved the countdown and the running to retrieve the rockets. It was really fun for everyone!

But mostly, this was a great party to get the DADS involved. So all I had to do was supervise the kids from the back. A win for me!

I’m pretty sure C had a pretty great 6th birthday!
