Some of you may remember this…

I grew up watching this show – I loved watching the segment, “The Bloodhound Gang” but I also loved the little skits about vocabulary and reading. What can I say? I am just a nerd at heart!

But did you know there is a new Electric Company on PBS now?

This show is aimed towards kids aged 6 to 9 and teaches kids about reading and vocabulary skills through a mix of videos, songs, dance, and skits.

I tuned into this when I noticed that the “old” cartoons that C was watching were too easy for him. He was kind of bored watching the usual shows he was watching – Diego, Handy Manny, etc. So when I saw this was back on, I DVR’d a few to see if he’d like it. He LOVES it. He has been hooked on it and is constantly asking for me to put one on for him. He is learning new vocabulary and reading skills – but he thinks he is having fun! If you are looking for something new to try with your child this fall – I say check out this show…it’s electric!

* I was not paid to write this. I wrote because I loved this show growing up and I love that my C likes it now.

Thanks for the recommendation – we will DVR it for Lil.

Sometimes, I think she has comfort shows – does C have those? At the beginning of Kindergarten, she would ask to watch Berenstain Bears a little more, because I think she found common cause in their problems. Just realized, it’s her Doctor Phil!!! :)

And J – how can you dislike Felipe the Phillips screwdriver? It’s so clever!
