Today I was going to write about C’s party and what fun we all had. He had a co-party with his best friend, Lulu, and that made his year. Add to that having the actual party at Pump It Up and he was stoked! The kids love playing on the slides and jungle gyms and even R got into the melee. What I didn’t count on was the horribly sad news from The Spohrs Are Multiplying, a blog that I follow.

I am not sure how to express my sorrow for this mother on the other side of the continent, other than to offer her my shoulder, my strength when she needs it, my hugs, my heart. My heart breaks a little more when I think of what she is going through today, I hope she finds peace in knowing how many people loved her little girl. In knowing how people thought of them as friends. And in knowing that we are all out here sad for her family, that we are all breaking a little bit today.

For me today, I plan to hug these little faces a bit tighter tonight.

Daddy and R

After sliding with Dad

Offer them an extra kiss at bedtime and grieve for a little girl, that I did not meet in person, but whose lovely face smiled on all of us.
