Well, here at our house we are getting ready for the holidays. One of the ways we celebrate the holidays is by having C do a countdown to Christmas, like we did last year. Each day he gets to open an envelope that has an activity that he can do with me and JD. This is a way to slow down and really appreciate the holidays. We can do things as a family and not worry about the hustle and bustle that is such a part of this season. I made the countdown again this year, as I hope it becomes our tradition.

I decided to make it a bit smaller and easier this year to manage. I “borrowed” a few (24) gift certificate envelopes from Target and used my Cricut to make the numbers on the front of each envelope.

Some of our activities will be:

  • Ride Santa Train
  • Watch Rudolf, Charlie Brown, Meet Me in St. Louis (for me), A Christmas Story, etc ((not all on one night))
  • Read Bear Stays Up, Olive the Other Reindeer, etc. ((Not all on one night))
  • Make cookies, banana bread, hot chocolate ((not all on one night))
  • Star Gaze, Dance like crazy, listen to holiday music, go see holiday lights ((Not all on one night))

And many more. I hope that this make the holiday time special for C, as it does for me!

Now all we have to do is have lots of fun!!

Note to Barb, yes I used Teardrop, and I know you are wondering how, since J returned it to you…ummm…apparently, just the box. So sorry. I will send it with him next week!!

Hee hee hee.

I looked at your pics on Flickr, and thought that it looked like Teardrop, but then thought, “oh, well Laurie must have cut those before she returned it.”

No biggie. :)

Oh, and I meant to say that the countdown looks like a lot of fun – even for the adults. I’m a little jealous.

Take pics so we can see a little of the magic, too.
