The Moo

Recently, it has been brought to my attention that there are NO Moo pictures on my blog. When I found this out, I thought this isn’t right, something is very wrong here. The person even tried to tell me that the Al must be the most favorite dog in the house. A complete false-hood, one I need to set about correcting. Not that we don’t love the Al, but I guess I have never told the blog about my Moo.

Where to begin. Well, she is most definitely my dog. She has just turned 13 years old. I have had her since she was a puppy. A very long time ago, I dog-napped her from an old boyfriend to get her back — hey his mom helped me do it, so that makes it OK. In a quirky, twist of fate, she and the C share a birthday.

But my Moo. Where do I begin to tell you about her? She is my best friend, even though the older she gets, the less she wants to deal with us “humans”. She runs the house. From the moment JD and I met, I believe that he knew “we” (me and the Moo) were a package deal. One he has dealt with most admirably – seriously she knows how to try his patience.

She wasn’t always the Moo, she started out as Samantha and her name has since morphed into Moo, Moose, Moody, Moosofat, or Pretty girl. She likes to be in charge. When we got Alex, she made she he knew that he may get bigger than her at some point, but she would be in charge. When we brought home C, she mothered him. Took to him, like a momma hen. I had hoped she would – she can be known for moodiness – but she knew I needed her to love him. She does, in her own way. She is smart enough to know when to get out of the way – mostly.

She is getting older and my heart worries for her and her heart. I know someday that the Moo may not be with us in person, but she will always, always be my best girl, my Moo.

I love you, girl.

I have to say that since I have known the “Moo” from the start and have loved her as well it makes me smile and my heart fill with love to see a very special and deserving member of our family finally get a post of her own!! To all the great times Camrie and I have shared with the “Moo” and the great plan of 1998 to kidnap her from you and take her home to Kentucky in the basket(LOL)!! We love you Moo and of course the rest of you as well!!! Love to all!!! Heather Chris and Camrie
