Okay, so I’m a big Apple geek. You probably already know that. The bad thing is, there is not an Apple Store near us. We have to drive an hour north or south to get to one. There is a local CompUSA that sells Apple stuff, but it’s just not the same as the bliss that is an Apple retail store. Laurie and I have said for a few years now that we need one in Columbia. It’s ripe for it. *pun intended*

A month or so ago, when I was at The Mall in Columbia (not just the Columbia Mall) hunting for a birthday present for Laurie, I went past the location of the old Fossil store. Instead of the Fossil store, there was one of the faux walls indicating a new store was going in. What caught my eye was the very large, "Apple" that was stenciled on the wall. It was just generic text with no logo, but it did say, "The Latest Technology" under it. I immediately called Laurie to mention it and the next day did a quick search of the rumor sites to see if I could find mention of a new Apple Store going in or not. Nothing, but it had to be right? What else could it be?

Well, today we have semi-confirmation via Think Secret. Scroll down to the second list and there you have it … "The Mall in Columbia – Columbia, Maryland". Oh joyous day! We live all of a mile from the mall. Wonderful … yet dangerous as well.
