Sesame Street is pretty much a staple for kids (unless I am out of touch and it’s now being replaced by the likes of that ugly purple dinosaur and such). I mean who doesn’t remember The Count, Burt and Ernie, Big Bird, or even Mr. Snuffleupagus. So what’s this about a drug? Well … C has a strange reaction to the Sesame Street CD, “Sing-Along Travel Songs”. His daycare provider said he loves it and she gave us the CD. We played it last night for him and he became “Mellow-Baby”. Then again today. He was starting to get fussy, rubbing the eyes, yawning. All this signs that he was about ready for his morning nap, which by the way is getting short and shorter, but I happened to be right in the middle of something for work so I wanted to buy myself a few minutes before putting him down. I decided to put in the CD to see if that would entertain him for a few minutes while I finished up. Damn if it didn’t. I sat him on the floor and as soon as it started, he stopped fussing, sat staring at the stereo, and became “Mellow-Baby” again. Now, he does enjoy his music, but typically it doesn’t cause “Mellow-Baby” Syndrome or MBS. He normally likes to wiggle is bottom or have one of us dance him around. So my query, “Do they put something in their songs?”
