I’ve recently been reading a new blog and the woman writing it has regular “How To Annoy Me” entries, which have inspired me to start a “Things That Annoy Me” series. I thought it might be fun and well, a good outlet. So without further ado, my first “Things That Annoy Me” entry …

Some guy called my cell phone this morning and as soon as I answered he realize that maybe, just maybe he might have called a wrong number, but for some reason he didn’t really want to admit it to himself. So, now instead of politely apologizing and hanging up he proceeded to somewhat rudely ask (as if he was being put out), “Who is this?”. WHO IS THIS?!? YOU CALLED ME! So I ask, “Who are you trying to call?” to which he responds with about 30 seconds on fumbling nonsense as if he can’t remember who he was trying to reach in the first place. He finally has an epiphany that he’s reached a wrong number and hangs up.

It’s not the first time this has happened to me, so to all you people who do this, please, OH PLEASE, don’t ask who it is. Politely say, “Hi, I am trying to reach *INSERT NAME*, but I think I might have dialed a wrong number.” If so, then politely apologize and hang up. This will not annoy me.
